SPITZNER ENGINEERS is a Hamburg based engineering office that operates internationally for the aviation industry, wind energy and shipping.

We offer engineering services in the field of lightweight design and construction with composite materials – especially CFRP and GFRP – and develop our own products to increase the efficiency of wind turbines, as well as software for data analysis of stability and life time extension.

With Cross Innovation we combine ideas and technologies of the different industries. Together with 3Dstrong GmbH, we produce high-quality components from fibre-reinforced plastics for prototype production.

As a project partner in the german aviation research program, we develop concepts and studies for future aircraft structures. Within the framework of various SME research and development programs we place our own topics.

Research engineer PhD (f/m/d)

“fibre reinforced 3D-printed plastics“

Your responsibilities:

You will perform a detailed material research in the area of 3D-printed plastics. All relevant production
parameters need to be identified and evaluated.
According to these data, you will create a parametric FE-model and perform a verification of testing
methods. The validation will end in a model finalization and guideline for ISO9100 conformity design,
calculation and production.

Your profile:

  • You have successfully completed a PhD degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace
  • You may have 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Experience in the use of fiber-reinforced plastics is desirable
  • You are familiar with CATIA V5 and FE-calculation models
  • You are familiar with Python programming or similar
  • You convince your conversation partners with fluent English or German
  • You have creativity and organizational thinking
  • Practical assessment and team spirit are your skills
